Standard vs Queen
Standard Solos are the same in length, level, requirements
and ability as Queen. You simply choose in which one you would like to compete.
All levels offer both categories.
Standard are less expensive, the award is a normal sized trophy and the results are posted not announced.
Queens are a little more expensive,
the award is a large trophy to each who dances and all 1st place winners are
also awarded a tiara & sash.
Queen categories are the only ones where Overall Awards are
eligible (often only in the Professional (pro) level only).
Often, the three highest Queen Solos are awarded Overall
Awards.
At Nationals, only Queens are eligible for MVP National
Champion honors and most All-American Honors.
Trophies
All Sols, Duets, and Trios are awarded Trophies for EACH time
they dance.
