ADVANCED and CHAMPIONSHIP FREESTYLE DANCE OFF

Starting with Autumnfest and running through the Utah State Championships,
we will now have an Advanced and Championship Freestyle Dance Off!

Here’s how it will work:

1. Dancers will compete in their freestyle age division.

2. Dancers who win a 1st Place HIGH GOLD will qualify for the dance off in the level they competed Freestyle.

3. After the last event in the each level, those who are qualified and want to dance off will compete in a freestyle dance off just like in Pro.
We will have 4 awards in the Adv and Champ Dance Offs –
    Jr. Male Freestyle
    Sr. Male Freestyle
    Jr. Female Freestyle
    Sr. Female Freestyle

4. Overall Awards will be given during the overall awards ceremony for that level. Winners will receive Overall Medals in Champ and Advanced. Trophies will be awarded in Pro.

We hope this allows us to shine some awesome light on the amazing dancers we have in Advanced and Champ levels.

It's incredibly hard to place in the top Pro Freestyle Dance Off and by holding dance offs in Advanced and Champ, we hope to introduce dancers to dance offs, give them additional opportunities to shine and be recognized and not have to do compete in Pro before they are ready for it.

It's going to be AWESOME!!!!

Rules:

1. Qualifiers only come from Freestyle. Only 1st Place HIGH GOLD Freestyle winners are eligible for the Overall dance off (no high golds from A Cappella, Duets, or All-Around Solos).

2. A person may compete in all three levels of dance offs if they qualify in each.
A person who is entered in Advanced Freestyle age divisions and wins a 1st place high gold, may compete in the Adv Dance Off. If they are also in the champ freestyle age divisions and win a 1st place high gold in champ level, they may compete in the champ dance off, even if they have competed in the advanced one already. Same for Pro. Champ and Pro are voluntary and you can go move within any of these levels at any time. However, remember, your SUPERStar points add up by levels. So if you compete in two levels, you get points in two levels, not a combination of the two.

3. There will be Jr and Sr in each level.

4. Winners in Adv and Champ will receive overall medals. Pro will receive overall trophies.

5. There will not be an Adv or Champ Dance off At Nationals.  All-American honors take the place of the overall dance off.

6. Rules for dancers and what level they may dance still apply.
This refers to the level a person may compete:

In Novice, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced, a person may compete in any events ONE LEVEL below their highest competed freestyle level. This means a dancer who competes Advanced freestyle may not compete in any beginning events including teams and individuals. See rules for duets online.
A person who competes in champ or pro, may not compete in any events lower than advanced in individuals and teams. See rules for duets online.

See the rules page online for any further clarification.

ADVANCED QUEEN SOLO DANCE OFF

Starting in 2020 and running through the Utah State Championships,
we will now have an Advanced Queen Solo Dance Off!

Starting in 2020 and running through the Utah State Championships, we will now have an Advanced Queen Solo Dance Off!

Instead of Choosing our top 3 Queen Soloists by score, the top 3 will be announced (in random order) and we will have a dance off at the end of the level for our top Queen Solo winners!

Here’s how it will work:

For All Dancers in Advanced Queen Solos:

1. Dancers will compete in their Queen Solo age division.

2. We will award Age Divisions winners like normal in the Queen Awards Ceremony.

3. After the awards ceremony, we will announce the top 3 solos and have them change and then compete again for the judges.
All categories are eligible for the Dance Off and dancing all solos back to back allows the judges to see them and compare them.

4. Overall Awards will be given immediately after the Dance Off. Winners will receive Overall Trophies!

We hope this allows us to bring even more excitement to the Advanced Queen Solos!

After competing in age divisions, dancers can cheer on their soloists one last time!

Rules:

1. The Dance Off is eligible for Advanced Queen Solos only.

2. All dancers must compete in the Age Division to be eligible for the Dance Off

3. Dance Off will happen immediately after the Overall Queen Awards Ceremony.

4. It's going to be awesome!!!
As other categories grow, we will adjust the dance off as needed!
